The way Dr. Lindsey adjusts a baby or child is not the same as adjusting an adult. Until about age 2, all that is necessary is a sustained pressure with fingertips. On older children, a non-force Activator® instrument is used. Since babies don’t have the muscle tone and stress that an adult has, their needs can be addressed with the gentlest of methods.
The process for a pediatric new patient is similar to that of an adult. At the first appointment, we’ll invite you and your child to come into the exam room (they can bring the awesome toys they find in our play area with them, of course). We’ll discuss your child’s history. If they’re old enough to understand and be involved, we’ll make them a part of the conversation.
They’ll have noninvasive scans taken, which wraps up the first day. On the second day, we’ll go over the results with you and give your child their first adjustment, as long as they feel ready.
Our Advanced Technology
For every patient, we use the INSiGHT™ Subluxation Station. This equipment allows us to take a temperature scan that will identify areas of interference in the body. If your child is older, we’ll show them the tool and talk to them about how it works. They can take their top off or wear a gown during their scans.
